SCCULT offer a 2 year accountancy training and support package to all SACCOS who cannot afford to employ a full-time accountant.
The aim is to train your clerks in how to prepare accounts and to support them through two annual auditing cycles to the point where they are able and confident to do this themselves.
The first step is for our accountancy consultants to train your clerks in manual accounting and the second step is based on mastery of accountancy software.
There many accountancy software packages on the market, but many are linked to larger financial institutions with questionable security. In the future, SCCULT plan to source an accountancy system specifically for SACCOS which will make them autonomous from these institutions.
As well as accountancy training, our consultants will help your SACCOS to mobilise the local community into joining the SACCOS.
Additionally, they will help you with policy making in the areas of marketing, human resources, cash management and fixed asset management.
The charge for this service is TSh 95,000 per month meaning a total investment over 2 years of TSh 1,140,000.
While this may seem a significant amount, a minimum salary for a full-time accountant is over TSh 500,000.
By training all of your clerks, you can realise a full return on your investment within these first two years leaving you with a fully qualified team, a mobilised community and a robust policy manual for the future.
